Turning On Mobile Learning in Asia

The main purpose of this review is to describe the current state of mobile learning in Asia, and to provide policy-makers, researchers and educators with recommendations for the development of future policies and educational resources that will best support mobile learning in the region.

The paper presents a set of policy considerations drawn from a systemic perspective that involves the micro, meso and macro levels of education systems. It is argued that a vision for future mobile learning in Asia needs to include a macro-level plan for how countries can progress from basic education and knowledge acquisition to learning that emphasizes knowledge deepening and knowledge creation.
